Born 1961 in Schleswig-Holstein (North-Germany)
The technique I use for glass art is called Glass Fusing (warm glass), which is the joining of glass at high temperatures (around 800 ° Celsius for full fuse) in a kiln. Various parameters in physics and chemistry have to be considered, and the main factor of a successful fusing is the firing schedule. It has several phases and determines, at which pace the kiln is heated to which degree and how long the temperature is held at that temperature.
Further on if wished the piece can be treated by cold works like grinding, drilling, sandblasting, sawing.
The raw glass (sheet glass) I use is handmade by a company in Portland, OR, USA. Air bubbles in the glass are characteristic for the glass fusing technique. All my products I design and create myself. They are unique pieces and created in elaborate manual work.
Please clean the glass carefully with a glass cleaner, do not put it into a dishwasher!
Besides warm glass work in all its facets I do paintings (various media like oil, acrylics, gouache, water color), mostly abstract/spiritual works, as well as outdoor garden arts, sculptures in various forms and materials.
