I have always been drawn to glass because of the magnificent colors. The technique I am using is called ‘Glass Fusing’. I am using raw glass, which comes in sheets, cut it to my design and then melt it in kiln. Full fuse temperature is about 800 degrees, but with variation of the temperature special effects in the glass can be created.
The raw glass is coming from a company called Bullseye, which is located in Portland / Oregon, USA. Bullseye is the only serious creator of fusing glass and they guarantee that all their glass products can be fused with no problems. (If you would like to learn more about it, I also offer classes where you can explore glass fusing and get more info).
I am considering my art to be emotional art, since I mostly work with bright vivid colors to give the viewer a joyful experience. My intention and desire in art is to play with colors and create joyful objects. Some of my objects can also be used in daily life like plates or bowls, and I very much relate to the ‘Bauhaus’ principle of integrating art and artful pieces in your daily life.
